PRE-MADE COVER EXTRAVAGANZA!

So, here's the deal.

I do a lot of covers for a lot of people these days. Sometimes when I whip up something for a client it doesn't exactly work for their book and I have to give it a second go. It's all part of the process. It happens.

Unfortunately, this means that I'm left with a pretty decent cover that doesn't have a home.

Covers are just like people, right? Every cover wants to be loved and every cover deserves a home.

Also, I'd like to at least get my money back for the stock images. That's a part of it too.

With that in mind I've decided to implement the First Annual Pre-Made Cover Extravaganza! (You know it's important because it's in caps.)

Here's how it works: Have a look at the covers below. If you think one of them might work for something you've written all you have to do is drop me a line at novakillustration@gmail.com (or leave a comment in the comments section) and it can be yours.

I'll remove the novakillustration.com watermark, plunk in your title and your author name, and even putz around with the fonts a bit if you think you'd like to try something different. If you like most of the concept but want to make some changes I'm sure we can work out a price that'll make every happy.

I'll do all of that for a measly $40. (Payable through Paypal)

Come on, that's a serious deal. Final images will be sent to you in printable 300dpi quality, as well as three sizes for all of your online needs.

Deal city, people. Deal city.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Steven

New Shirt Design

It's been a while since I put together a new zombie shirt (because I've been so busy) so I started on another design last night. I haven't even finished drawing it yet, but if you can guess what it is, I'll give you a gold star. (Which will actually just be me typing the words "GOLD STAR" in the comments...I know that's a bit of a let down).

Here's a hint: B.A.

Oh, and I've also (very slowly) been moving some of my designs over to zazzle as well, but that's taking a long time (you know, because of the whole "busy" thing again) I've included a link to the zazzle stuff in the sidebar.

The Broken Back Twins

Both my wife and I have rather annoyingly been struck with some terrible back pains at the exact same time. This is especially sucky because both of us are hobbling around the house like a couple of injured camels, complaining, whining, and generally being a pains in the butt.

Yep...lots of fun at the ol' Novak household.

I put a few new zombie designs up recently over at redbubble, including one just in time for the new Indiana Jones flick. Feel free to check them out.

Busy With Stuff

Been busy with a lot of stuff lately.

Busy, busy, busy.

Annoyingly busy.

The wife went back to work yesterday morning and the house was once again quiet. I didn't have to put up drapes, or shop for furniture, or clean the bathroom...

Wonderfully quiet.

Last week I started working on an illustration for someone, but unfortunately I can't post any sketches or anything on here due to a non-disclosure agreement. I thought the piece came out pretty good, and I'm just waiting for the final okay. I started yet another commission last night, and I finally got around to putting some color in my next monster piece today. Plus, I'm very nearly done with the drawings for my second collection of "Pen Man." The book should be around 100 pages long and in my (admittedly somewhat biased) opinion is looking pretty darn good. The story is kind of dark (darker than the first volume even) but features some really cool stuff. I still have to throw some gray tones in the pages, followed by the text, but I'm hoping to get it done by mid-year. (The picture above is an unfinished page)

Let's see, what else?

Busy doing lots more product design stuff, like always plus, I'm still waiting to hear back on my submission to zudacomics. I submitted it last Sunday night and haven't heard anything as of yet.

Ohhh, I also worked out last night for the first time in about three months...now I'm sore.

Remind me never to take so much time off again.

Zombie T-Shirts

The last couple weeks have been EXTREMELY hectic as I've had a surprising amount of product design work coming in, as well as a few other time intensive things. I'm expecting stuff to die down a bit over the next couple of weeks, which is good because I can use the extra time to get some work done on some other projects I have going. I'm actually working on a submission to zuda comics believe it or not (I'll post some scans on Friday maybe) and hopefully I can get some of that done this week.

This week I put threw up a couple zombie t-shirt designs I kind of did on a whim over at redbubble.com and I've gotten a surprising response.

Someone (who apparently has even less sense in style than I do) even bought the hippie one.

Anyway, I already have three more in the sketch phase and I think all three of them completely blow away the two I've done so far.

I'm digging drawing dead people.

Maybe a job in the morgue is in my future?
