Self Portrait

Thought I would post a recent self portrait I put together. There was a bit of experimentation going on in this one for me. Watercolor, charcoal, colored pencil, pencil, marker, ink, and a wonderful photo of my not so handsome face were used to pull this thing together.
Quite surprisingly, I don’t hate it.
I know, I know…me not hating something that I’ve done is no doubt the first sign of the coming apocalypse. I’m sorry that a pathetic self portrait by a nobody you’ve never met had to bring forth armageddon, but I guess that’s just the way the cookie crumbles.
Or I suppose the way the earth crumbles…as the case may be.

I think your self portrait is wicked cool... I just don't think you should put it anywhere near the "about the author" page in your children's novel...

Unless of course you are targeting juvenile delinquents. Then by all means, carry on.

I like the different mediums you used.
I painted a pretty sweet water color myself the other day.

Yup, it was one of the coloring book ones where the paint is already on the page and all you have to do is smudge a wet paintbrush around the page for a few seconds.

I don't want to toot my own horn or anything, but that sucker turned out GREAT.

;)
Don't be jealous... some of us (and by US I mean ME) were just born with raw talent.

I think it looks great, Steve. I can see why you don't hate it! But wait a few months and reevaluate, that's what I do. :O)
Have a great weekend!

Alicia, I am in fact targeting juvenile delinquents so I'm good to go! ;)

You know, I've never actually heard of coloring books with the color already on the page. Does that really exist? Am I just that much out of the loop?

Thanks Chrissy! It has been a week now since I last looked at it, and you're right...I hate it now. ;)

Luckily for you, your birthday is coming up... so you may or may not be receiving a coloring book with the color already in it...
I don't want to ruin the surprise or anything.
